US$900M Terminal 2 Opens in Hanoi

Noi Bai International Airport has now commenced operations at its new $900M Terminal 2, connected to the city center by a new highway and Nhat Tan, the country’s largest cable bridge. The modern terminal will handle 10 million passengers per year over its four floors and basement with a total floor area of 139,000 square meters, including the main building and two wings. Terminal 2 offers 96 check-in counters including 10 self-service kiosks, 17 boarding gates, 283 flight information display boards in the public lobby and 14 passenger bridges. The terminal uses large glass wall technology to allow plenty of natural light in – also saving on energy costs.

Foreign arrivals into Vietnam by air rose more than 10% in 2014 and are expected to keep rising sharply as a regional open skies initiative develops in the region and Southeast Asia moves towards the integrated ASEAN economic community.
