Work has now commenced on Jewel Changi Airport, a joint venture between Changi Airport Group and CapitalMalls Asia to complete a mixed-use complex featuring attractions, retail outlets, a hotel and facilities for airport operations. The development will take place in front of Terminal 1 in the heart of the airport, with 22,000m2 of indoor space comprising a five-storey garden and 40m high waterfall.

The top level will also feature 13,000m2 of park space comprising gardens, walking trails, playgrounds and dining outlets. The complex will house an integrated multi-modal transport lounge offering dedicated services for fly-cruise and fly-coach passengers, such as ticketing, issuance of boarding passes and baggage transfer services. These will allow Changi Airport to leverage new opportunities such as the growth of Singapore as a regional cruise center.
