The annual Michelin Guide Singapore 2017 (the second edition following its inaugural issue in 2016) has just been launched with a complete listing of Singapore’s best dining experiences – from casual street fare to fine-dining creations by local and foreign celebrity chefs. Singapore has long been referred to as the dining capital of Asia – and for good reason. The Michelin Guide Singapore 2017 features 39 Michelin 1-star restaurants (of which 11 are new entries), 7 Michelin 2-star restaurants and 1 Michelin 3-star restaurant. In addition, 38 eateries from Singapore have made it to the Michelin Bib Gourmand list for 2017. The Bib Gourmand guide highlights restaurants offering ‘exceptional good food at moderate prices’, with approximately half of the list being hawker stalls. They must offer menu items priced below a maximum determined by local economic standards.
