Destination Asia Malaysia’s Second Adopted Sun Bear Released

Destination Asia Malaysia is delighted to share that on 10 July 2020, the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre (BSBCC) released Montom, a six-year-old adult male bear back into the wild. 

Translating to ‘black’ in the local language of  Dusun, Montom was rescued from Kampung Melangkap, Kota Marudu, on 18 January 2015 and came to BSBCC on the 21st of the same month.

Montom is Destination Asia Malaysia’s second adopted bear to be released back into the wild. Damai, our first adopted bear was released in March 2018.
