Tan Son Nhat International Airport’s New T3 Terminal

Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City is celebrating a major milestone with the opening of Terminal T3. Inspired by the flowing lines of Vietnam’s iconic ao dai, the terminal’s curved design blends tradition with modernity, offering spacious interiors, sleek VIP lounges, and bright open areas.

T3 will become the main hub for domestic flights, handling up to 80% of Tan Son Nhat’s domestic traffic, and promises to provide a smoother, faster experience for international travellers connecting to domestic destinations.

Designed to accommodate 20 million passengers annually and up to 7,000 passengers per hour during peak times, Terminal T3 will ease congestion and streamline the travel experience. For passengers with connecting flights, it’s essential to plan accordingly as transfers between terminals at Tan Son Nhat typically take around 30 minutes. To ensure a smooth transition, it’s recommended that travellers allow at least three hours between international and domestic flights. This extra time ensures that connections are hassle-free, giving passengers ample opportunity to navigate between the terminals without the risk of missing their flight.

While airlines finalise schedules for transferring flights to the new terminal, passengers will temporarily use an external route to transfer between the Domestic and International terminals. These transfers are provided by buses and are free of charge, ensuring a convenient and cost-free connection. This will further improve the airport experience in the future, making travel even more efficient.
