Hong Kong celebrates performing arts excellence

From 9 to 13 October 2026, the Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo (HKPAX) returns for five days of performances, exhibitions, industry discussions and cultural exchange, bringing together artists, presenters and arts organisations from across Asia and beyond.

Held under the theme Passion in Motion, the event continues to showcase Hong Kong’s role as a leading centre for the performing arts. This year’s programme features more than 40 performances alongside over 30 curated forums, networking events and industry sessions, creating opportunities for collaboration while celebrating the diversity of contemporary performing arts.

New for 2026 is Hong Kong Chapters, a dedicated platform highlighting the work of local independent artists and small to medium-sized arts organisations. The initiative offers visitors an opportunity to discover emerging creative voices while providing a stage for home-grown talent to connect with international audiences and industry professionals.

Spanning dance, theatre, music, xiqu and multidisciplinary performances, the programme reflects both Hong Kong’s rich artistic heritage and its evolving contemporary arts scene. Alongside performances, visitors can engage with artists, explore new creative collaborations and gain insight into the ideas shaping the future of the performing arts across the region.

Blending outstanding performances with meaningful cultural exchange, HKPAX offers a unique opportunity to discover another side of Hong Kong through one of Asia’s leading performing arts gatherings.
