Planning Ahead for Tet (Vietnamese New Year)

Tet, the Vietnamese New Year, will be from Monday 4 to Friday 8 February 2019. This event is the longest traditional holiday for Vietnamese people and a very busy period for travel.

Here are a few factors to be aware of during this period:

–  Travelers who are visiting larger cities during the holidays may encounter empty streets as Vietnamese people return to their home town to celebrate the  New Year with their families.

–  Rates for travel during that period have surcharge for guide and transportation already factored in. Most restaurants, shops and several sites will be closed. We may adjust itineraries and restaurants accordingly.

Hotels, guides and transportation by car / plane / train will be in high demand. We recommend to confirm pending enquiries and regional flights to and from Vietnam as soon as practicable to guarantee availability and price.

We recommend all new booking enquiries and visa requests to be sent before the last week of January. Although we will have a team on duty, they will not be able to confirm availability from Friday 1st of February and until businesses resume their activity on 11 February.
