A hotel legend, renovated and reborn in Bangkok

In 1970, the opening of Dusit Thani Bangkok set a new standard for hospitality in Thailand and, for 50 years, this flagship hotel presided over Lumpini Park and served as one of the city’s most famous landmarks.

In 2021 the decision was made to close it and give it a complete overhaul. Now, after several years work, it’s due for a grand reopening at the end of September. Designers and architects have maintained heritage of the building by preserving and re-presenting many of its exquisite artworks, gorgeous ornaments and signature elements such as its distinctive, handcrafted teakwood décor and perfectly blended this with all the facilities of world class hotel accommodation.

The crowning glory is its famous golden spire which has been such a familiar, welcoming sight to generations of Bangkok dwellers and is now fully restored at the summit.

A cleverly designed floorplan ensures every room faces the green expanse of the famous Lumpini Park, with uninterrupted views of it through large floor-to-ceiling windows and elegantly designed window seating so guests can make the most of them.

In this new chapter, Dusit Thani Bangkok is also set to firmly re-establish itself as a landmark in the city’s culinary scene with a new selection of fabulous restaurants and bars, including their Pavilion Restaurant, where Destination Asia Thailand has secured an exclusive offer:
