Indonesia has implemented two new screening measures for all international arrivals in response to the recent declaration of Mpox as a public health emergency.
1. SATUSEHAT Health Pass: All international travellers entering Indonesia must complete the SATUSEHAT Health Pass, an electronic self-declaration form, to track and manage the entry of travellers, particularly from Mpox-affected regions. Upon completing the form, passengers will receive a QR code, to present to the health quarantine officers at their arrival port.
2. Thermal Screening: All passengers will have to pass through the thermal scanner at the arrival terminal, designed to detect passengers with elevated body temperatures, potentially an early sign of Mpox.
- If a person is detected with a body temperature above 37.5 degrees Celsius, a re-examination will be conducted using a thermal gun.
- If the body temperature remains high, passengers will be taken to the testing room for a swab sampling.
- If the test result is positive for Mpox, then the passenger will be immediately referred to a hospital.
