Behind the Scenes of Seven Samurai in Tokyo

Fans of Akira Kurosawa and his film Seven Samurai can now venture on an exclusive behind the scenes tour at Toho Studios in Tokyo. Often hailed as the movie of movies or the textbook from which all films are made, Seven Samurai is respected by many directors, actors and producers within the film industry. Household names such as Steven Spielberg and George Lucas drew inspiration from this epic.

Filmed in unassuming, sleepy Setagaya ward, a quiet residential district in Tokyo and the very place where the legend started, which must be seen to be believed. During this tour, Mr Takada, the author of books ‘Mifune in the world’ and ‘Exploring the Movie Town’ takes guests to the shooting locations, sites of former residences of Mifune and Kurosawa themselves, and provide in-depth behind-the-scenes talks.

But without the great acting of Toshiro Mifune, Seven Samurai might never have achieved the success that it did. The recent documentary movie Mifune: The Last Samurai (2015) reveals his impact on cinema all over the world.
