Campsites & Farms Gain Popularity Among Domestic Travellers in Yangon

While a domestic travel ban required all locals to stay within their state or region in 2020, it also provided opportunities to discover hidden natural gems. The Yangon Region, in particular, has seen a boom in camping, leading some farms to set out tents and welcome visitors.

Popular among domestic travellers eager to escape the crowds and noise of the city, visitors can enjoy campfires, boat rides, birdwatching, organic foods, and bbq dinners, among other sporting activities.

Myanmar’s domestic airlines reopened in December 2020, with all hotels, motels, guest houses, inns also set to be reopening, according to the tourism national guidelines of the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism.
