Destination Asia Thailand’s MICE team came out on top after Thailand Incentive & Convention Bureau (TCEB) launched a ‘Creative Routing Contest’ at Thai MICE Connect Business Mart. Their winning program highlighted the lesser-known historic area of Phitsanulok in northern Thailand and was selected from 200 programs as best in the region.
The team presented their itinerary online to the TCEB committee and buyers during the Thai MICE Connect Business Mart. Named ‘Pitsanulok with a Twist’, the award-winning program places a focus on sustainability and working with the local community to ensure any benefits are returned. The itinerary includes getting hands-on at a pottery village, learning the workings of an organic farm, visiting an elephant sanctuary to learn about their welfare in Thailand, and even trying your hand at stand-up paddleboarding on the river.
This year the ceremony was held online due to COVID-19 restrictions, with the award later delivered to the office where it was gratefully received by Destination Asia Thailand General Manager, David Linde, and Destination Asia Thailand MICE Director, Siwaporn Wangsatan, as pictured above.
