The Hong Kong Tourism Board has announced the return of the famous Hong Kong Cyclothon on 18 December 2022. This popular date on ardent cyclists’ calendar will be one of the largest outdoor sports events in recent years. Participants can once again enjoy a ride on the three-tunnel, three-bridge route and and speed along the magnificent Tsing Ma Bridge, Ting Kau Bridge, Stonecutters Bridge and others. Much of the route is not usually open to bicycles, and other traffic is cleared specially cleared for the event.
The course takes riders across six Hong Kong districts and affords them the chance to appreciate multiple scenic city views. An estimated 3,000 enthusiasts will take part in six event categories, ranging from easy leisure rides to professional races, suitable for cyclists of all levels.
