The Living Land Company in Luang Prabang is a community focused initiative employing locals who, following training, teach travelers the skills involved in a number of rural activities. This hands on experience allows visitors the opportunity to try their hand at rice planting, ploughing using an ox-drawn plow, harvesting and threshing.

The ‘Rice Experience’ is an excellent program for small to medium sized groups who want to join together under the guidance of a locally trained farmer and work out in the field. Helping to train young members of the community, the project provides many great benefits for the community at large – all within an idyllic countryside setting framed by rising mountains and ancient rice terraces. Lunch is included and enjoyed with magnificent views at the on-site restaurant in the centre of the farm.
