The Mountains of Chiang Mai by Self-drive tuk-tuk

Guests are invited to get behind the wheel of their very own tuk-tuk for an adventure to remember, as they head off in convoy with fellow drivers and local guides to explore a corner of northern Thailand few travellers see.  After a detailed driving lesson, the convoy heads out on a truly unique day trip, taking in remote hillside temples, encounters with elephants that are happy and well looked after, a hearty Thai lunch and a scenic trip by raft down a pristine jungle river. All this comes with the sheer pleasure of driving their very own bright orange tuk-tuk on beautiful, quiet rural backroads.

There’s also a multi-day trip, featuring an overnight stay in a small Karen village and a hike through the foothills and forests of Doi Inthanon past stunning waterfalls high above Chiang Mai.

These two options represent surely one of the best adventures in northern Thailand. And of course, guests who prefer to take it a little easier can opt for a chauffeur to drive them.
