Tonlé Sap Luxury Cruising Aboard the Samsara

Beyond the temples of Siem Reap lies Tonlé Sap, Southeast Asia’s largest freshwater lake and an ecological wonder. Seasonal meltwaters from the Himalaya push the Mekong River back into the lake creating a rich fishing ground at the heart of Cambodia and extending the surface area five-fold. The resulting ecosystem is unique and fascinating; little having changed for a thousand years.

Samsara is Tonlé Sap’s first fine-dining experience, offering decadent dishes prepared by DineBeyond’s award-winning chefs and free-flowing cocktails. This 56ft classic wooden launch was designed to meet the highest standards of comfort for cruising and exploration of the narrow channels and changing water levels of Tonlé Sap.

Embarking from the port of Mechrey, guests transfer by small boats to explore the floating village before boarding the Samsara. Upon arriving outside the pristine protected bird sanctuary of Prek Toal, anchor to watch the local birdlife. Seasonally guests may take small boats to go in search of fireflies along Tonlé Sap’s narrow channels.

Samsara is also available for private charter. For more information, get in touch with our Destination Asia Cambodia team.
