Refurbishment of The Strand Yangon is now in full swing as this beautiful heritage hotel is restored to her former glory. A team of 150 builders, laborers and craftsmen are busy on site, tasked with replacing the services infrastructure, as well as the meticulous restoration of the many colonial architectural features.
The teak paneling of The Sarkies Bar has been carefully stripped, preserved and varnished by local artisans, while marble experts are repairing the beautiful flooring that stretches beyond the lobby to the Strand Café and into the ballroom.
