Group:
Four nights in Yangon for 400 guests from a global technology information corporation with a strong corporate presence in the greater Asia Pacific Region.
Brief:
This is the largest group ever handled in Burma, with the client requesting 5 days of cultural exploration, pampering and dining in Yangon. Separate tours operating simultaneously for splinter groups were also requested.
The Challenges:
A major challenge was to find a spectacular venue suitable for 400 people for the final night’s dinner and party. Destination Asia Burma conducted research across the city to secure their best providers and to create new activities for the group.
The main objective was to form activities and sightseeing programs that could transcend cultural differences and create bonds between participants from different countries. Running several tours simultaneously, we worked with over 20 guides per day over the 5 day period. Activities included a food donation to over 1,000 monks, private cooking classes with local market visit, an introduction to meditation and a Yangon heritage walking tour.
For VIP guests we organized a day return trip to Bagan and a private audience with the Yangon Heritage Trust founder, who is responsible for protecting and renovating colonial buildings in the downtown area.
Result:
The feedback from the client was extremely positive, commenting on the deep, meaningful and profoundly cultural experience each delegate encountered during their visit.
