We held our first ‘Destination Asia Plastic Free’ workshop yesterday at our head office in Bangkok. All the teams from head office joined together to share ideas on how to reduce plastic waste in our daily lives, while implementing a number of easy ways to shrink our plastic footprint. Reuseable water bottles are now given to each new staff member and canvas bags are available for use to save taking plastic ones. Our message of ‘5 simple ways to shrink your plastic footprint’ is visible at reception to keep this incredibly important message at the forefront of everyone’s mind.
We also launched an in-house competition with a prize voucher for two at the five star Akyra Hotel.
The idea is to share ways of reducing plastic use – or reusing (think plastic flower pots!). Follow our hashtag #DAplasticfree to see how our staff are reducing their plastic footprint.
Plans are underway for a DA plastic review in a couple of months’ time – a chance to get together in small teams and review how successful we have been at reducing plastic waste. We look forward to hearing a great selection new ideas to implement in the office!
