Hokkaido to Host Adventure Travel World Summit 2023

The Adventure Travel World Summit, hosted by the Adventure Travel Trade Association, is one of the highlights of the travel industry calendar. This year, this exciting event is set to take place on Japan’s northernmost island of Hokkaido from 11 – 14 September.

Surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, the Sea of Okhotsk, and the Sea of Japan, Hokkaido boasts dramatic mountain ranges, clear streams, deep forests, and some of the country’s most serene national parks. It’s also home to the indigenous Ainu people, who have a rich traditional culture that embraces a unique sense of harmony with the earth.

Travellers to Hokkaido can enjoy hiking, kayaking, snow sports, and an array of other exhilarating activities, making the island the perfect setting for this year’s summit.

During the event, travel professionals from around the world will meet to discuss the future of adventure travel in Japan and beyond, focusing on the fact that an increasing number of tourists are looking to get off the beaten path, travel sustainably and support local communities during their explorations. There’s no doubt the Adventure Travel World Summit will foster inspiration and many new ideas around this emerging trend, which we will be excited to present to adventure-curious travellers in the future.
