Two airlines announce new services to Malaysia

Dubai-based carrier flydubai has announced the launch of a daily service from Dubai to Langkawi and Penang in Malaysia, while Qatar Airways has made a similar step by resuming its daily flight from Doha to Penang, via Phuket. The flydubai service will start from 10 February 2024, with the onward flight to Langkawi taking a short stop in Penang, while Qatar Airways’ schedule is now up and running.

Langkawi and Penang offer a vast array of experiences, appealing to beach lovers, adventure enthusiasts and foodies alike. Our Classic Peninsula Malaysia tour explores both destinations across multiple days and starts in Kuala Lumpur and the Cameron Highlights before heading to Penang. Often called the Pearl of the Orient, Penang offers a rich cultural tapestry, blending Chinese, Malay, Indian and British influences. Its UNESCO-listed George Town is renowned for historic architecture, vibrant street art and amazing street food.

Next stop is Langkawi, known for its pristine beaches, lush rainforests and stunning geological formations. Guests can enjoy activities such as island hopping, cable car rides to the Sky Bridge and exploring the Kilim Karst Geoforest Park. The island’s duty-free status also makes it a shopping haven.
