On Seoul’s Han River, world-first engineering meets creative event design at Some Sevit, a striking complex of three floating islands. Known as Gavit , Chavit, and Solvit (also known as Vista, Viva and Terra), the islands are each inspired by a local flower species and have been designed to float independently while remaining securely anchored, allowing them to withstand monsoon conditions and seasonal river changes.
By day, the islands offer uninterrupted views across the river toward Banpo Bridge and its Moonlight Rainbow Fountain. After sunset, integrated LED lighting transforms the complex into a vibrant landmark, with shifting colours reflected across the water and skyline.
Beyond its architectural innovation, the complex has been designed with events in mind. The three-island layout allows organisers to create distinct yet connected experiences, from receptions and meetings to gala dinners and entertainment. Banqueting facilities are particularly popular, with three venue options accommodating groups of between 200 and 550 guests.
Combining memorable design with practical event infrastructure, the floating islands offer a distinctive alternative to traditional venues in Seoul, one that brings guests onto the Han River while keeping them close to the heart of the city.
