Ramadan Kareem! Enjoy the spirit of Ramadan

“Ramadan Kareem,” a greeting often used during the month of Ramadan, translates as “have a generous Ramadan”. And you can truly enjoy that generosity of spirit when you stroll around the lively bazaars that pop-up all-over Singapore throughout the month, which lasts this year from 22 or 23 March to 21 April. The main bazaar in Geylang Serai has returned this year after a break, and this is the place to be when the day-long Muslim fast is broken at sundown. Known as Iftar, this is the sunset meal the ravenous hungry people sit down and dive into, featuring wonderful Singaporean delights like the famously juicy Ramly burger, keropok lekor fish crackers, curry puffs, chai tow kway fried radish cake …. the list goes on and on. There are other, smaller bazaars too, which are well worth a stop for sociable times and yet more snacks, food, drinks and perhaps even a spot of shopping from the stalls.
