The first Asia Pacific Masters Games (APMG) will take place in Penang, Malaysia on 7-15 September 2018. It will be the first-ever masters multi-sport event in Asia. An estimated 10,000 participants from the Asia Pacific region will compete over nine days in various sporting challenges – a fantastic opportunity for those who love sport to immerse in a world class event.
The APMG 2018 features 21 sports, with athletes/participants competing in professional, recreational or social event. So the occasion involves everyone – regardless if you are a serious competitor or simply joining for fun. Just like the Olympics, there are opening and closing ceremonies, and medals are awarded for podium finishers in all events.
True to its tagline “Beyond the Games”, APMG 2018 is more than just a sporting event. During the day there’s plenty of opportunity to soak up the vibe of Penang, voted No. 2 in CNN’s list of Must-Visit Travel Destinations in the World 2017. Penang has a little something for everybody, from sandy beaches and eco attractions, to modern shopping complexes and the old world charm of its UNESCO world heritage sites and culinary offerings.
