Last Minute Changes for Koh Samui Incentive

Group: 200 personnel from a European multinational home improvements company.

Brief: The client requested a reward trip for 200 employees in celebration of their sales team exceeding targets. The group had previously visited South Africa on an incentive and wanted to surpass the exceptional experience they had there.

The Destination Asia Thailand team scoped out a selection of larger destinations including Bangkok and Phuket as they offer the capacity and facilities required to accommodate a group of this size. Shortly after this the client fed back a desire for Ko Samui as the destination. We then commenced our search for possible excursions, restaurants and a memorable farewell dinner location. After numerous discussions and site visits we were set to host the group in Ko Samui, with the program culminating in a circus themed farewell dinner on the beach.

A week before the group arrived, the production team revisited the venue for a final inspection. They were shocked to find the beach area had been eroded following storm Pa Buk leaving less space for the stage and set up. The production team called an emergency meeting that night to revise the floorplan and set a new strategy. The next day a revised plan was submitted and approved by the client.

On the preceding day, the production team arrived at the venue and spent almost 20 hours setting up all venue decorations. On the evening of the event the weather was perfect and guests were treated to a seamless production with theatrical entertainment, dramatic performances and wonderful cuisine.

Following dinner one of the group’s leaders gave thanks to the Destination Asia team, stating that considering all the challenges, they were overwhelmed by the event. They said all arrangements went beyond expectations and they could not thank the Destination Asia team enough.
